Since the AHOA Board began hosting “Townhall” meetings a number of topics have been covered including Restrictive Covenants, Community Security, Irrigation, Dunbow Road Development and Noise Concerns. These meetings have been received positively by the community and the Board is looking to host additional townhall meetings in 2025.

The Board wants all future townhall meetings to engage topics important to Artesia residents so please forward any suggestions through the Contact form on the website. We plan to hold the first townhall meeting in May so we are requesting any topic ideas be submitted by March 31st to provide the Board adequate time to prepare (invite guests, compile data, etc.).

Spring is in the air

Yes, spring is in the air and our nesting pair(s) of Canada Geese will soon be back looking for a nesting spot, if they are not already.

One of our residents on Pond 1 had the experience of a pair nesting in the flower pot/box. For those that live around the ponds, primarily Pond 1, now is the time to scan your yard and deck to make sure any potential nesting spots, elevated flower pots, etc., are removed/protected to minimize the chance of a bird nesting there.

Remember — if the geese do happen to pick a spot in your yard or deck or roof to nest, it is illegal to disturb the nest of migratory birds without a permit from wildlife.
